The U.S. Labor Department data released Friday show, in 2011 the maximum contribution to employment in the healthcare industry, 315,000 new jobs throughout the year. Other industry second to none, closer to the leisure industry, the new 230 000.
Sharp transportation and warehousing employment increased by 50,000 in December; a sustained increase in retail employment, 28000, 240 000 new full-year. Last month's general grocery store, apparel store employment continued to grow, 13000 and 11000, respectively. Sporting goods, books and music retail trade employment fell by 10,000.
Manufacturing new jobs in December 23000, for four months flat. Transportation equipment, metal and machinery industry new 9000,6000 and 5000 employment. The mining industry last month, new 7000, the year had 89,000. The health care industry increased by 23,000, an increase of 10,000 hospital.
Government agencies new jobs, unchanged from December but decreased throughout the year to 280,000 layoffs occurred mainly in local government, state government and the United States Postal Service.
