Purpose: This study investigated the prevalence of depression of cancer patients, home health care provider, and to identify the predictors of depression. Patients and Methods: For this study, we recruited from the Korea National Cancer Center, 310 cancer patients, health care providers, and demographic information of patients and health care providers. In order to assess the health care provider of depression and predictors, we used the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), health care quality of life index - cancer, as well as family impact questionnaire. Logistic regression analysis to determine the independent predictors of health-care providers of depression. Results: Most (67%), health care providers have higher depression scores (BDI gt; 13), 35% have a very high depression score (BDI gt; 21). In the multivariate logistic regression model, women's health care provider, the patient's spouse, poor health and feeling the burden of maladjustment, not working properly, or the care of patients with poor Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group score state home health care providers are more likely to suffer from depression (all P lt; 0.01). Conclusion: The depression in cancer patients, home health care provider is very common, the burden of care is the best predictor. Intervention aimed at reducing the impact of tumor psychiatry should not only focus on patients, but also concerned about family health care provider.
